Look online at the Oregon DMV site. They have the exact fees according to length/weight, I think.

Sorry. You're not in the Oregon thread. It might apply to any state.

looks to be $28 + applicable fees and inspection. With no sales tax, you may be lucky...

How much are the fees to register my vehicle?
Registration fees differ for each vehicle. Contact your town or city office.

I know OR and MT are states of choice for registration (also no sales tax). But the fines for fraud-registering... RV Registration fraud case "sends a clear message"* -* Roaming Times article

I live in Oregon. But, you're right. Now they require that you have an Oregon D L before you can register any RV. They don't ask for it for registering your car, though.

Default Town and State Fee for 40ft Diesel for 2013

We just put our brand new 2013 40 ft rv on the road.
Sticker Shock:
Town fees for 12 months was $4,079 and 3 months at $850.
Town fees are variable and set by the town.
State Fee is $432.80.
Same cost as our house taxes.
I can understand why so many sell their homes and rv full time.

You need to register in MT, OR, or AK, that is a common practice for FT RV'rs (no sales tax + provisions for RV)

Domicile in SD (no income tax)

The MA RMV charges $50 per year for "Auto Home" plates.
I don't want to know how much the town will charge you in tax though! State law says it should be $25 per $1000 MSRP of vehicle, lowered due to age of vehicle (90% for a new car, down to 10% at the 5th year and beyond).
