count the number of minivans in world, / (divide by daily readers on C-D who might want to tow)

Maybe someone else will try it?

BTW: Uhaul seems to have the best prices on Minivan Class 3 hitch (2") ($120 - $150 out the door) +$100 to install lights and hitch

There's also a large percent of SUV drivers who also pull small trailers. Honestly, I'd take a SUV over a minivan to pull a trailer.

Good point,

Front Wheel Drive and towing can get you into trouble (gravel, ice, snow, deceleration on steep grades...)

Astro AWD was a great minivan, (towing as well) but I never had one

I have seen many with 300k+

I live in a 'Silver thaw / freezing Rain' area, so Astro AWD were a 'staple' of the road 20 yrs ago.

Eagles too

I find that I like AWD for some applications. Towing with a FWD vehicles makes me itch.

Now, the Dodge tradesman van, their full size van, is front wheeled drive. It looks like my next work vehicle will be Ford Transit van. Looking on the Ford website I cannot tell if its front or rear wheeled drive. If Wikipedia is right, it will be rear wheeled drive.

Why does it matter that it's 3 years old? Still relevant...

I participate on another forum which forbids people from making new threads unless they can't find a relevant thread in which to post. It means we drag up threads 3,5,10 years old on a routine basis. I see no problem with that if the topic is the same.

Excellent points. Although it's unlikely the OP is still in his quandary, many others might be.

Hello, I've towed my 2370 lb 1999 Honda Civic HX with a ton of stuff in it and my minivan with a lot of stuff in it, - and I lived in my minivan for 1 year... I guess the weight of the Honda was around 2900 lbs while the minivan had about a 450 lb load.

My 4th Gen Dodge Grand Caravan SXT is a special tow package edition that will tow 3800 lbs. So it will gladly tow a very lightweight AL trailer. Oh, but those are costly!

But, I took a 51 day vacation to Manila, and I am coming back soon. So I can't reply often!!!

RE: I dry camped in my Rialta while doing cross country trip for 4 months, I never ran low on fresh water. -- OF COURSE, YOU ALWYS HAD TO REFILL WITH WATER, UNLESS YOU TOOK SHOWERS SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!
