DH and I would camp more often if we could camp in our CT State Parks. (closer, reasonable cost)
Unfortunately the majority do not allow pets. I have written requesting a change in this policy with no luck. Hammonasset has 300+ sites, how about a couple of dog loops? The ONE state park campground that allows pets was a former private park and is expensive. The state forest campgrounds are tiny with few spots.
More than 3/4 of US State Parks are pet friendly. The rules are all the same, and if you don't comply, you are asked to leave. Why can't this be done in CT?
I am asking you to consider writing to DEEP, 79 Elm Street, Hartford CT 06106-5127 if you agree with my viewpoint.

Hi poodlecamper, I live in CT but don't camp here. We tend to head north (with our dog) in order to have that "get away" feeling. I didn't realize CT had such rules in their parks. I'll join your campaign!
