Pretty much.

It would be ideal for parking in one place though...
like when snowbirds land in FL for winter or go up to the Finger Lakes in Summer.

Cool. Do you have the $40,000 for the truck to pull it with too?

The owner want 25,000 for the truck to pull it to. It's a 2005 Chev, dually diesel, crew cab, every option on it and only 37,000 miles.

Cool.

Are you able to snowbird? That is do you have the time? Retired etc?
Do you have a place (or access to) at each end of I-75 with hook ups?

Cheboygan on Huron to Naples on the Gulf is only about 1500 miles.
It could be a nice life.

Contact some of the campgrounds you might go to and see what size camping spaces they have. Often the state and other government campgrounds were built decades ago and assumed smaller equipment.

That would be my only concern, except that I personally wouldn't need a toy hauler. It sounds like a very nice 5er. I've got a 2006 5er that's sat outside since new and shows its age from the weather. A garaged unit should be much nicer, and it's got some nice options with dual air and heat and a good generator.

Your choice of camping sites will be greatly reduced with this if you want forest service, COE or state campgrounds, but only reduced, not eliminated. Most commercial RV campgrounds (that I've seen) have the majority of sites large enough for this.

The price sounds fair, considering the condition of both the camper and the truck. I'd be interested if I was in the market. The 2005 Chevy diesel is a good truck, my choice for that year, and I'm a Ford owner.

The owner has told me he keeps the 5th wheel in a pole barn and never has left it outside. He bought the 5th wheel new.

One minor thing it should have, even though it's been inside and probably hasn't seen a lot of travel, is a new set of tires if they haven't already been replaced.

I should also have mentioned above, that National Park campgrounds also don't have many sites for that size.

My wife and I hope to retire to full-time RVers, and our plan is to get a 5er in the 40-foot size range. As weekend and short vacation campers, we're perfectly happy with our 27-footer. My personal preference for weekend camping is a pickup camper... but I'm happiest when my wife is happy.

I'm also looking for this kind of 5th wheel which is 27 foot and is a 2013 model.
