I have a Thor Outlaw toy hauler motorhome with a back garage and ramp that converts to a deck. For an older model you could search for Damon Outlaw also.
We do not leave the deck open at night for two reasons. First weather, the decking material is not waterproof so a sudden storm could ruin it. Second security, while there is a lockable door into the living space, its just a sliding glass door that would be easy to get into. Plus we store stuff in the garage.
My understanding is that a "toy hauler" is what you call a trailer RV with a parking space for a motorcycle or ATV. In front of the parking are beds/kitchenette/bathroom of a traditional RV.
I don't want a motorized RV, nor do I want just a box for hauling stuff. I'm looking at a few <30' RV trailers with rear ramps, and a space where fold-up beds/tables/benches make way for a 4-wheeler or the like. I only want the toy hauler for the option to open it to the nicely landscaped, fenced-in, yard surrounding the parking spot, as typical <30' RV trailers can feel a little claustrophobic, and I've got great weather with mild temperatures and no rain.
I don't get the Toy Hauler. you mean for that to be the camper? Who would want to sleep in a toy hauler?
A toyhauler is a typical RV in the front and mid section with the back space being a conditioned garage which is convertible to additional living space (beds usually come down from the ceiling and couches fold up on the wall.
Toyhaulers can be quite nice (and expensive) actually.
