We are looking forward to a summer of camping in our new home state.

What are your favorite places to camp in Southeast Idaho?

This is more south-central than southeast, but Craters of the Moon Natl. Monument is very unusual and good for a day or two of fun. You feel like you are camping on Mars; there are lots of lava tubes and lava caves to explore.

We have lived and camped here in SE Idaho for my husband entire life and 37 of my years. We love Stanley, Challis, Palisades, Warm River, Heise, Swan Valley, Camas Creek, heck you can camp anywhere! We set up our tent trailer in the back yard and sleep in it during the summer months....it is cool and fun! We pretend we are camping and we love it!

I've visited the area, but have yet to camp there. I would like to camp some place (or possibly several places) between Ashton and Victor, along the western side of the Grand Tetons. I've camped on the other side in Wyoming, so this would be a neat alternative. I can't really suggest anywhere yet, since I haven't camped there yet. Also, Palisades Reservoir and the surrounding area are beautiful, so I wouldn't mind camping in that area, either. There are just too many places to camp to ever get to see all of them.

When you get to asking about southwest Idaho, I have a place I like that I will share! LOL!
