Used a Kipor 3K for 2 weeks straight after Hurricane Ike hit. Ran a fan, TV, and fridge. It ran like a top and was very quiet compared to other generators in the hood. Was very economical fuel wise as well.

All I can say is "REMOTE!"
Having a remote to start that baby is awesome. You don't have to go out into the cold to get it going. Just push a button...aaahhh.

From experience, may I suggest you stay away from the dollar store brands, like champion. We're on our second one, and they're not only junk, they keep breaking down, we also get the run-around from the company on warranty repairs. Cheap is NOT always best!
You'd better buy a honda, onan, or other well known name brand, or, you will be sorry you went for the cheap.
