I'll bet if any of us really knew what was in it, none of us would eat it. I just don't want to know, I don't read labels anymore, they can be scary.
In the early 80's, I was in the Air Force, and my buddies and me used to go to the commissary and buy the boxes of c rats or k rats, they weren't too bad. Maybe not as good as the new modern day MRE's. Our native alaskan friends who allowed us to tread on their land loved the p nut butter and crackers, they also liked any kind of whiskey too, we partied hardy with them.
Leaving in the morning for 4 or 5 days of camping, going to be good to get away, just got a call from a friend, he said to bring a coat and that sounds good.

RD, It's probably too late to wish you a good trip, but have fun regardless. The kids and I are currently in Salmon, Idaho, and have been camping in quite a few places over the last week and a half. So far on this trip we've camped in NV, UT, WY, and MT. We're headed back towards home, but still have a few nights to camp before we get there. I'll try to post some pictures when I get back home.

You got to camp in Montana? I hate you for that. I love Montana and all her beauty. Did you get to go up too Glazier National Peace Park? We spent a couple of weeks in MT and half of that was at Glazier National, truly touched by the hand of the creator.
But I am glad that you and your family enjoy that type of outing . Be careful going home, the kids should have alot to tell thier friends that just stayed home and played thier game boys.

We camped three nights in Montana, all in different places. After spending a night in a hotel in Billings, we camped near Livingston, Holter Lake (north of Helena), and Glacier National Park. The scenery everywhere in western Montana is spectacular, and well worth seeing. We went there after having already traveled through east-central Nevada (Great Basin N.P.), Utah (Fishlake National Forest), Colorado, and Wyoming all on this same road trip. Basically, we've traveled and seen the sights by day, and camped overnight, then hit the road again in the morning. Today I'm posting from Elko, Nevada, after traveling down through Idaho yesterday. We'll be heading back to California today.
