For those who may not know what a 5th wheel is, that rtandc mentioned...here's a few illustrations...note...the size and variations they come in are as numerious as the stars...(well not quite)...but here's a few for you to check out...

Ok, when can I move in....this is very very nice and dreamy...

If you get a 5th wheel you'll first need a pick up truck...full size...then you will have to mount one of these in the bed of the truck...usually a dealer can fit it for you or a shop...it's very similuar to the mechanism semi trucks use to connect to 53' trailers...

And once you get all hooked up...you'll be able to enjoy views like this...much better than
any view from a Motel 6....

yeah many people like 5th wheels.... me personally you could not pay me to own one but that is just me......

That is one of the biggest debates Rv'ers have when sitting around the campfire......5th wheel or class A and which is better......Both are great and it all depends on what type of rv'er you are and what your goals are when looking for a unit........The wife and I love our class A and would never own anything else, but our best friends own a 5th wheel and feel the same about their unit...it just boils down to personal choice

We've had both the fiver and the Class A. I think it's an individual choice. For living the fiver was much more comfortable, but the Class A is so much easier to set up, take down, and getting there is much better.

Here's a couple of pictures of our Class A...

Believe it or not, before I ever saw this, I use to talk of inventing or manufacturing specially designed floatoons that would allow RV'rs to convert their units into house boats....
I see here someone else has already come up with the idea....

Makes sense to me...land, water...now if only they could invent one that could fly...

"They got a bit greedy with wanting to get a up and close view of the ocean..."

The incident of the motorhome on the rocks occurred very close to where I live. The owner thought he had set his brake when he parked at a wayside and got out to walk his dog, but the RV rolled onto the rocks below the parking area. Probably a very big towing bill to retrieve it.

Default Witnessed this awful roll over wreck today and filmed the aftermath..

I witnessed this wreck today...it occured right infront of me...Black pick up truck pulling a travel trailer started fish tailing...lost control...skidded sideways...and rolled about 4-7 times....

Truck landed up right but crushed...trailer on it's side...one passenger was life flighted...the other was 'ok'....tooken to local hospital...

These travel trailers can be dangerous...you must take care when pulling them and look in your mirror often....and no sudden whipping moves....

I have video footage that I'll try to share later of moments after accident on I-81

Default Video of travel trailer after it rolled over on interstate...

YouTube - Moments after a Truck pulling a travel trailer over turned on I-81 7-9-10 12:30pm

Here's the video footage I took minutes after the roll over...the pick up truck rolled over about 4-7 times...2 passengers inside...one was life flighted...they had to cut them out...the other passenger or driver was driven to local hospital....
