My husband and I have decided that we want to start camping together. We have both camped sporadically in our past, but now we want to get "serious".

We live north of Atlanta, and were curious if anyone knew of great places to camp here in Georgia, especially heading up north. Thanks for any suggestions!

I really like camping in No GA (Have a cousin in "Ringgold"), especially the mtns near Elljay, Blue Ridge (now is a good time Apple Blossoms !)

google "camping + North Georgia"
Parks, Camping and Trails North Georgia Mountains
North Georgia State Parks - About North Georgia
RV, Campsites and Camping information for the North Georgia Mountains

Gett'n on into NC and TN, you just may never come home to ATL

NE Alabama has some great spots too.

Smile camping in Ga

We LOVE Vogel State Pk. Most weekends in spring & summer stay booked so plan advance. Red Top Mtn & Cloudland Canyon are other great parks north. Another well kept secret is Watson Mill Bridge near Athens. Enjoy!

Don't forget however, that "camping" and RVing are two entirely different things. There are several very beautiful places to "camp" up near our house in the N GA mountains, but of those... no way could we get our motorhome in them. LOL But.. there are some wonderful RV parks up there too. Check out Rivers Edge Mountain RV Resort in Murphy, NC if your looking at RV parks... only about 2 1/2 hours north of ATL.
