Default One Last Observation, gerri

As appealing as Canada may seem to you from afar, let's examine some possible realities.

One assumes, then, that your reason for wanting to move to Canada is to improve your life.

I'd just like you to seriously consider how improved your life would be if you came into Canada under false pretences.

If you didn't have legal status, neither you nor your husband would be able to take advantage of the whole job market; you'd be limited to working cash jobs for employers who were willing to look the other way about lack of documentation. That would mean no healthcare, no pension plan, no benefit packages, and no recourse to employee protection laws.

On top of that, you'd always have the worry in the back of your mind that someone would find out you were an illegal and turf you out of the country.

It's hard to see where you'd be farther ahead.

It just depends where you are coming from, what your skills are etc. I don't think one is much easier then others but I might, might put Canada on the easier boat.

i am trying to do the opposite
move to us from canada that is
WOW your immigration process is way to money grubbing.
I have to pay 1.85 a min to call a number to ask a question on how to get dual citizenship- which i have a claim to
Any tips would be appreciated

We are looking at the states bc the real estate in bc has gotten so crazy.
We want to move to the us and buy a house for cash -200k is my ideal- but can go as high as 300k
need to be some where temprate. I like hot but my hubby cant really take 100 degrees up.
mountians, lakes, river area would be ideal.

Any suggestions?

As for moving to Canada
what does your hubby do?
There is a MAJOR shortage of SKILLED tradespeople in alberta and bc
but as i said above real estate is crazy so beware
Wher i live to rent a ROOM in someones house is 1000 per month
apartment condos are 450-600k
and a house of about 900-1200 square feet is 600k up

Hey I'm sure if you contacted someone at immigration Canada they would be able to answer this question for you...

Sponsorship requires a commitment of support from the sponsor. $10K per head. No access to social assistance for the sponsoree. It works well, but have you given any thought to where you're going to go? Thought about the climate? Other costs?

I honestly think you need to do some more research.

If your husband is a skill worker he can apply as an immigrant for a skill worker. Pls visit the page www.cic.gc.ca where you can find information about how to immigrate.
See at skill workers programm. Good luck

I don't agree with anything said here but the cold bit. It is true, Canada's winters are freezing if you are going to live in ontario. I've said it before, your skin feels like it is burning but of course that's just the cold weather talking.
Money is fine if you have the right career. But if you don't it will be very hard. Both my spouse and I would have to work if we were still in Canada, but in a place like TN, I don't because money is easier to come by for someone with a university degree. So it just depends. I would stick with doing everything the legal way tho.

BUT. As as american you can pass the border and stay in Canada for 6 months. When your 6 mo. is up, you can apply (apply before the 6 months are up) for a 6 month extension. It does cost like 75 dollars or something but hey, could be worth it.

Legally yes but in practice they don't keep tabs on how long you stay there.
