I think you would be better off contacting someone in Canada's immigration department rather than attempting to find information here. This forum focuses more on the political ramifications of immigration, both legal and illegal, in the U.S.

One idea you might try- seems to work here, anyway. Simply pay a free-lance guide, ("wolves" I think they're called) to escort you over the border into Canada, by-passing their border agents. Once there, you can probably locate a "sanctuary city", and be home free. As I said, this sort of thing goes on all the time in my neighborhood....just a suggestion. Good Luck!!

Well if you plan to cross the border to Canada from the US (assuming you have US citizenship), you can simple drive accross the border. Finding a place to rent will is not a problem if you have $$$ to pay. But finding a job without paper will be hard, unless you willing to take cash paying job.

Ya you could get a job with pizza pizza as a delivery person. I know a whole smack load of immigrants that are working there. I mean illegal ones of course.
I don't agree with anything said here but the cold bit. It is true, Canada's winters are freezing if you are going to live in ontario. I've said it before, your skin feels like it is burning but of course that's just the cold weather talking.
Money is fine if you have the right career. But if you don't it will be very hard. Both my spouse and I would have to work if we were still in Canada, but in a place like TN, I don't because money is easier to come by for someone with a university degree. So it just depends. I would stick with doing everything the legal way tho.
BUT. As as american you can pass the border and stay in Canada for 6 months. When your 6 mo. is up, you can apply (apply before the 6 months are up) for a 6 month extension. It does cost like 75 dollars or something but hey, could be worth it.

You're getting the wrong info, gerri.
In order to be covered by provincial health insurance plans, you must have some sort of legal status in Canada, whether that be Permanent Resident, Citizen, Refugee, etc.
