Which city is better? Winnipeg or Regina? I've been to Winnipeg and I really like it. Regina is probably the most suimilar city to Winnipeg in Canada. Both cities have similar weather, similar housing prices the only difference I see is the population. Winnipeg is much larger than Regina. But what city do you prefer Winnipeg or Regina?

Wow, what an awful couple of choices . I pick neither.

In all honesty, neither are that bad, and they're very similar, character wise. I like Winnipeg better. The forks is pretty, and the Red River beats Wascana Lake hands down in my books (there's catfish in the River, which pretty much sold me).

I haven't looked in a long time, but I'd be willing to bet that Regina's more expensive, housing wise, than Winnipeg now. Saskatchewan is booming right now - Manitoba, not so much. Mind you, a lot of that boom is happening away from Regina. Regardless, I think my statement holds true.

I live in Winnipeg and the few times I have visited Regina I have NOT be impressed. I think Saskatoon is nicer than Regina. Anyways, I would choose Winnipeg- but really the cities are similar.

Which city is better ! I have lived in Winnipeg for 21 one years and now live in Regina for 30 years! Which is better ? Well, Regina is very easy to get around To the downtown core or the out skirts of the city! Winnipeg not so much 1 Winnipeg is closer to some of the nice beaches and lakes around. Only within hours ! Both cities have its parks and recreational areas. Although Winnipeg does have the forks and Regina does have Wascanna park which is a great lake to Kayak on! Winnipeg and Regina are very much the same. Thanks Canada !

I've heard most Canadians avoid those two cities like a plague.

First of all, Winnipeg is much bigger than Regina population wise (730,000 Winnipeg Metropolitan compared to 210,000 Regina Metropolitan). The two cities, however, have a very similar landscape, both have their fair share of crime, and housing prices are comparable. The big differences are that Winnipeg is more multicultural, has more shopping, has an NHL team, and has larger post-secondary institutions (University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Canadian Mennonite University). Regina, however, has grown over the past 10 years at a higher rate than Winnipeg, and has many of the same big box stores and entertainment venues as Winnipeg, excluding IKEA and the NHL. Overall, both are cold prairie cities with overpriced housing.

You'll be a lot less bored in Winnipeg and feel a little more globally relevant.

In the end you'll yearn to live in a city like Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, or Montreal.

Why not look for cities in the US/Europe if you can?

Winnipeg because of larger and more diverse population as well as NHL team.
