My highly intellectual friend of mine forgot that his passport expired a few months ago and we actually have a business meeting in Albany NY in two days! (this Friday). He sent in his passport to be renewed or whatever last Friday. Will we have this bad boy in time? Thanks and God bless.

They are quick but not sure they are that quick.

Another option. US Customs will accept an enhanced driver's license. Not sure what the turnaround is on those.

Passport Canada: Canadians - Urgent and express applications

Might be too late to utilize the express renewal as your friend has already sent in the documents but a call to the right person may be able to expedite a speedup..

I got my passport renewed in 4 business days with the regular service... In Calgary at least they do have an overnight service if you pay and can prove need.

IF your current passport is still active; no big deal, inside of 10 business days is normal with the mail service factored in. Let it expire and all bets are off. Taking his expired passport, along with forms filled out, to his local MP's office would have been the best course of action, they will expidite for him. Too late now.

Give your "highly intellectual" friend a gentle but unmistakable 'nudge' that intelligence without priorities is merely a "hobby without a purpose".
