i basically want to open a shop not too big, just a small one.
where can i find it the cheapest?

also,if i want to open a shop in calgary, where its too expensive, how much would it approximately cost for a 500 sq. feet area ?

i guess the rates have got to do with the land prices.

$$$ is no issue.my dads got lots of those

You wouldn't be buying land, though. You are looking into renting retail space. If the downtown area of a city happens to have a high vacancy rate for retail/commercial zoned space, you can get a better deal. Cities usually track this information, and you can find out vacancy rates by neighbourhood, to do a comparison.
