Hi there,

I rented a cottage on the Ocean in Malagash, NS from August 19-26. What are my chances in encountering a hurricane lol...a little nervous about this?
Also, what are your recommendation in sites to see and things to do not only in Malagash but other parts of NS? Family friendly...outdoorsy...interesting sites?

Thanks!

You wont encounter a hurricane.
Why Malagash as its kinda out of the way as to most of what NS has to offer.
Luninberg has many tall ships, including the one on the back of our dime.
Peggies Cove is a nice photo op stop
Downtown Halifax for events
Joggins for fossil hunting
Maybe a day or two over at Cavendish beach in PEI
The drive around Cape Breton island is very scenic..
Hopewell Rocks in NB

Exactly how do you guys know he won't encounter a hurricane???? Sure the hurricanes that hit Nova Scotia aren't as severe as the ones that hit Florida, but are memories really that short!? Earl did a lot of damage last August.

NS does get hurricanes, but not a lot, and not often enough for it to be a worry.

That's what I meant.
Nova Scotia an unbelievably beautiful Province - so enjoy. And if anyone watches the U.S. TV Series 'Haven' it is filmed in Lunenberg, NS. I highly recommend visiting there. It's very quaint and lovely.
