We loved Waterloo. Schools are good and neighbors were friendly. We were going to stay there and dh commute to London but he was going to be going almost every day so we decided it would be too far. It would be a pain to have to go through Kitchener to get to the highway, but nicer area than Kitchener we found.
Guelph seemed nice, too, but we didn't live there so don't know much about it.
Dundas is a great spot. Good schools and a small town with a nice downtown. The old part is very cool. My wife and I would have moved there but I wanted to be able to walk to the GO station in downtown Hamilton so we bought in Kirkendall (west Hamilton, between Queen and Dundurn, Main Street and the Hamilton escarpment) which has good schools, a great commercial strip on Locke Street and is right beside the highway for quick exits out of town.
