I have no issue if these provinces go separate ways. There is currently almost nothing that glues the nation together. No shared core value, no comment history to remember by. The provincial borders, as well as the one between US and Canada, are completely arbitrary and lack any sort of historical/cultural context.

I think Quebec's main goal in the long run is to become part of the United States, Same as the Maritimes. Hell when the Maritimes first broke off from Britain they wanted to join the United States.

But I'm going to be honest, I don't think the United States is going to take them. They won't want the burden of Quebec. And secondly they won't want nearly 8 million extreme left liberal voters in their country.

I do think if the West stays and Canada goes on, Quebec will want back in. That's if they don't try to become part of France again. That is another option as I've heard from some.

Quebecers won't be able to live with the Second Amendment. Or all the other Amendments for that matter. The people MIGHT. But unless the Quebec people throw their current Provincial and municipal sectors out it's never going to happen. The Quebec Government won't want American Freedom. But if they join like they say they do, Then they have to take it.

You also have to remember that what we are taxed does not come back to us, at all. It's mostly spent on wars and pork, at least in Canada your taxes return to you in the form of better schools, healthcare, etc. I hardly even feel like it's ethical paying taxes to the US government, it's pretty much supporting terrorism.

I don't think they will ever get it to happen. I've heard it's a Quebec backup in case they become a second world country. They try it on they're own first, If it does not work out join the United States.

But the thing is I don't think the US will even bother to take them, Ever. They'll rejoin Canada.
