My husband was born in canada..he became an american citizen. He loves his birth country but would never live there. He has still has alot of family in canada. What we hear his family complain most about is...Health care, schools, taxes. My husbands grandma had a huge dislike of americans..but she did like me. Maybe because I am married to her favorite grandson!!

My point was that the border has nothing to do with it. In every city, some parts are safer than others. The borner doesn't have much to do with it.

There is significantly higher crime in Oakland, CA vs Walnut Creek, CA despite being only a very short drive away.
