when I was traveling in Venice, I met a French Canadian gentlemen and we were discussing this very thing, I told him that to me one of the differences between Quebecios to Parisian French at least in terms of English speaking (maybe French as well..I don't know) is like many other North Americans, Quebecious pronounce their R's when they speak English, I got the impression Parisians did not, so the 'r' in tire is definitly pronounced when French people from Quebec speak English.

I'm not from Canada but I visited Winnipeg and Toronto. In Winnipeg they have a proper Canadian accent but people from Toronto sound American. I was watching an accent tag and people from Toronto seem to say their words the same as americans.

Are there any famous Canadians from the Prairies who have Ukrainian or Low German accents due to the large numbers of immigrant communities up there?

I can't think of anyone. Generally, the only German accents you hear are from Hutterites, who, obviously, aren't particularly enamoured with fame or celebrity. Mostly, everone else has integrated into mainstream society and talks with a fairly standard accent.

Here's a strong Cape Breton accent. Anyone heard anything like it?

Yes but I used to live in Nova Scotia and had colleagues who were from Cape Breton.

On a similar note, what do you think this accent sounds like? It's the accent of Anglos in Montreal, I sound like this.
