The City of Lethbridge operates a rattlesnake mitigation program, you can read about that here --> https://www.lethbridge.ca/living-her...tlesnakes.aspx

Yes, you are overthinking this.

The snakes live in the coulees. If you own a house on the west side, you are unlikely to see a snake. You may see one on Bridge Drive (watch the "Snake Crossing" signs) but that's about it. Popson Park has them, but they are rattlesnakes, so you will hear them long before they can endanger you, and you can back away.

If you do not go into the coulees on foot, you are unlikely to meet one. Even so, there are many trails and paths through the river bottom, where you will be safe. They do not like people, and will retreat if a human comes along. They will only strike if threatened.

The residential areas and parks on the west side of Lethbridge are pretty safe from snakes.
