I can buy MORE of it though.
From wiki..

"In February 2007, Peter Pan and some Great Value (Walmart's store brand) peanut butters were linked to 425 cases of salmonella across the United States. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials believe this is the first salmonella outbreak involving peanut butter to occur in the United States."

Peter Pan? What about JIF? We love that brand but the power's that be decided the market for a more expensive peanut butter in Canada just wasn't there so now any of our friends from down there have standing orders to not show up unless they're carrying a jar of JIF!

This summer's visitor list saw our stock of JIF replenished until 2015. Whew!

Meh. I only use peanut butter to make Asian peanut sauce. The cheap stuff works just fine, and a jar lasts me about a year.

but,but,but...I thought you were particular about food. Hydrogenated oils in some cheap peanut butters are not good.

If a jar lasts me a year, it's not exactly going overboard. I'll live.

Besides, I'm only particular about my food because I'm a foodie and I like good food. I don't eat meat, but I'm not doing it for my health. I'm a smoker, for God's sake! I'm going to worry about a small jar of peanut butter?
