Anyone have any info on PEI? It looks beautiful. We are thinking about a visit up there this summer. I understand it's a farming area and the homes are CHEAP (comparatively). Can you own a home there or anywhere in Canada and NOT be a Canadian citizen? Thanks!

I was fortunate enough to take a vacation out east to NS and PEI several years ago. It is absolutely beautiful. The scenery was just breathtaking. We were only there about 4 days but that's enough time to see a lot considering the driving time is so short. So we were able to see quite a bit of the island. The scenic drives were divided up into four sections (don't ask me what the names were I think they were flowers or something) I found each one to be quite unique and beautiful in its own way. I would definately recommend it!
As far as the housing I don't see why not? I'm not certain on that one though.
If you would like me to email you some pictures of the island just let me know and i'd be happy to help! Happy vacationing

Oh yes I would love to see some pictures! Did you guys rent a car or drive your own? It seems like a small "town" so I am not sure of the accomodations. Thanks ever so much for your reply!

We were on PEI for 2 days only and I agree with Dreameyes, it is a beautiful place. Watch out for your white clothing though as the dirt is red and it does stain. I've posted a few pics on another thread, one of Dreameyes, check em out!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a vacation there to anyone.

I think there are restriction on non-Canadians owning waterfront property in PEI. Best to talk to a local real estate person first.

You'd never go wrong with a vacation in the Maritimes. Check out the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton

If you want a visual of some old houses on Prince Edward Island, then have a look at Green Gables and some other LM Montgomery related homes on P.E.I.
