Hmm, a good point of views... Well, not really planning in hotels because of being too expensive. Some of the motels are decent in prices, like the Fox motel in Napanee and other ones. Haven't heard of RibFest and would like to be up there by then. Just curious, where is RibFest located? Also, about the motels... can they do U.S currency to canada money also? If not, can anyone tell me what places can? Sorry about the questions, lol. Just trying to get some rough ideas.

Hotels will accept USD currency as payment. Don't think any in that area will offer to exhange money for you.
As you drive over the border assuming you cross on the thousand islands bridge the duty free shop has a currency exchange. 1000 Islands Duty Free -- Gananoque, Canada
Many banks will exchange currency for you even if you aren't a customer. Otherwise refer to our conversations about using your ATM cards..

Right now, I think the US dollar and the Canadian dollar would be accepted at par.

Duty free is paying roughly par on the way into canada but you lose a bit coming into the US..
However merchants are free to charge whatever exchange rate they want no matter how unreasonable.

Okay, thanks for the link. In your own opinion, which one of the "thousand islands the duty shop" would you say will be best. There's one in Fineview, NY...(really do hate NY anyways, lol) or the one in Lansdowne, ON?

As you approach the border crossing there will be signs to the only one available for your direction of crossing. The other one is for on the way back..
Oh on the way back make sure to hit up the exchange and change over any $1or $2 coins you get. Unless you want to keep them as souvenirs. Your US banks will exhange bills but won't touch coins.

Speaking of 1000 Islands bridge crossing... Do you happen to know about how much is the tolls?. According to yahoo maps, there is partial tolls on I-81 N and also on Canada route-137 and by the looks of it, I would have to pay for two tolls (if reading it correctly) Rather just avoid the tolls altogether but, there is no other way around it, lol.

I doubt also, but just want to know how that all works, if you don't mind me asking.
