Does anyone still prefer Mr. Sub vs. Subway (or other chains?).

It seems like after the American chains Subway (and Quiznos) entered the market, Mr. Sub has mostly been out-competed for business and closed in many locations.

I still sort of remember when it was the main chain in the country (and apparently had a sort of monopoly on the market) and it was everywhere in Toronto even in the late 1990s, before Subway moved in.

Now, I don't really see many of them though they are still there. Do you think it will still be popular or will its market share continue to decline?

I still occasionally enjoy the breaded chicken sub from them. You are right that they've definitely declined in popularity compared to Quiznos and Subway. I suppose it's unfortunate that it is another case of an American company out-competing a Canadian company, but I've also noticed a decline in the quality of the sandwiches from Mr. Sub. Heck, I haven't been too crazy about Subway either lately. I still enjoy Quiznos the most out of the three although it is expensive.

Here in Quebec, I definitely noticed Mr. Sub getting muscled out by Subway's. It's not in any of the places I go any more, I suspect they've lost most of Montreal to Subway's, but, maybe they'l make a comeback, google says a local company recently bought the chain.

My dad always had a nostalgia craving for Mike's when he went home. I don't think he ever actually ate there though. I've been once driving back from Quebec City stopping at a location in Trois-Rivieres. Had the steak and pepperoni sub and it wasn't too bad.

I prefer Mr. Sub over the others. Subway I call subbarf as it is so revolting. Having just moved back to Canada after 5+ years in the U.S. I pop in to a Mr. Sub whenever I can - just sooo good.

Don't think we ever had MR.Sub here on the West Coast...we have lots of Subway and Quizno's franchises but never seen a Mr.Sub franchise out here in Vancouver.

We alspo do not have Pizza Pizza here in Vancouver either...We kind of get passed over on Canadian owned Fast Food franchise's it seems..

You have Megabite Pizza though ... I always have seen it as basically being BC's Pizza Pizza. And apparently Vancouver has 6 Mr. Subs.
