Unusual question. Although, I guess different groups (ie Chinese, Indian) propably discuss the very same issue internally.
Why do you ask? Are you Black? Are you American?
I haven't lived in either city (although I have been to both). I'd guess the answer would be no difference.

It depends greatly on what you do. Calgary is predominantly white collar, Edmonton blue collar.

I'd say that it doesn't make a difference.

Having lived 15 yrs in Calgary and 16 yrs in Edmonton, it makes no difference whatsoever. Esp. since there are barely 1 million blacks in the entire country!
Edmonton is closer to Amber Valley, though, if you like a little history with your perogies.
BTW, I would hardly call Edmonton primarily blue collar (vs. Calgary), what with the U of A, the prov. government, the Feds, healthcare, and cancer research as major employers.

I'm sorry, predominantly blue collar with a large number of self righteous unions.

Calgary is the best bet--more happening, closer to Banff, Edmonton has a crime problem as Calgary has but Calgary new police chief is on the case.
I live in Red Deer which is halfway between the two cities (90 miles either way) Calgary is warmer also.
