I agree, we never miss Rick Mercer. Thank goodness for CBC on our cable system.

You know there have been some threads about what it is to be Canadian. I think Rick and shows like Royal Canadian Air farce are part of the answer.

Intelligent well written humor making fun of the government no matter who is in power. And you don't see people,politicians or media clamoring for someones head because they made a joke. Many politicians even play along and participate in mock interviews.

Shows in the US like the Daily show and the Colbert report are starting to do some of this in the US but it's been a long tradition in Canada.
