Is it safe to live in Russell Woods health wise? We have kids and I am concerned about the black mold all over the exterior of the houses there. It seems to be a very nice area, however this is the only thing that bothers me. There is a Hiram Walker whiskey storage facility just south of the area that seems to be causing this black mold. Anyone lived here or know the inside scope?

Thank you

I used to spend a lot of time in Puce and had never heard of a problem. Could you call the Town of Tecumseh or Essex County and ask around..?

Puce is more east of the facilities. Tecumseh doesn't have this problem, it's the residences directly north of the storage facilities. It is a well known problem that goes through Lakeshore. I contacted Lakeshore and they sent me a program that Hiram Walker pays for your houses to be powerwashed every 2 years or so. Hiram Walker hired a scientest to find out what the issue is and this was the result: The Mystery of the Canadian Whiskey Fungus | Wired Magazine | Wired.com No real conclusions... everyone was just amazing by his writing style... but his writing style is something I am not really interested in.

Also this is a big problem in Kentucky where they are suffering from the same issues: Whiskey Fungus Lawsuit - Home

Default Black mold in lakeshore

I often wondered how this black cakey substance all over the roof tops affects people.
I find it fascinating that people who live in these houses don't seem to mind or wonder how it
affects their lungs or their skin or just health in general, long term.
So this pondering has become my route to a documentary.
If anyone would like to share any information it would be greatly appreciated.
