Hello,

I'm moving to Canada in the next few months, and I'd like to be near to my work (I'll be working in downton Toronto and/or Mississauga) I was just wondering what the best neighbourhoods are to live in that area that are a close commute. I'm 27 will be living alone but looking for a nice detached 3 or 4 bed home (250k to 280k max Canadian dollars) in a safe environment with nice bars or restaurants close too.

Would be great to walk to downtown so if anybody knows any nice areas where I can do that & also still travel by car to Mississauga but not take hours would be amazing! Thanks.

Hi Jay. Unfortunately that budget probably will get you a 1 br condo in Michael Power Place, the West end of Toronto. Good news in that it is close to Mississauga so a quick drive for you. It is also a short walk to the subway then a 35-45 minute subway ride downtown. I could be wrong but I think even in Mississauga you would be hard pressed to find a home like you are describing. Houses in Toronto are double that cost and what you are describing is more likely $700,000+. Not to be discouraging! That part of Toronto isn't too bad. You are near the Kingsway which has some great pubs.

Sorry to not be clear that's my fault but I mean for renting not for purchase, I also wouldn't mind condos/apartments, thanks.

Well in that case the world is your oyster. I would stay on the Bloor West subway line or King west. Not bad areas for renting and going against traffic to Mississauga is easy.
