So do you will ever think the country will be renamed to Quebec and Canada. I mean there seems to be a certain amount of logic to it, anglo canada and quebec are continually becoming more segmented(not divided), so would it make sense for the country to become dual nationalities. I know harper is somewhat pushing for that at least symbolically. But would it be unimaginable for there to be a quebec hockey team in the olympics or in hockey.
I'm sure if Quebec separates from Canada the two countries would probably keep their respective names.
As for Quebec in the Olympics? they would have every right to compete as a sovereign nation, in fact some of Canadas best Athletes come from Quebec..
But I don't really understand the original question: how can a country be renamed with two names and still be one country? This seems to be what is being implied...

There are a few countries, particularly multi-island caribbean nations that have
two-in-one names. Trinidad & Tobago, for instance. I assume this is the sort of idea the OP has.

Greenland and denmmark were for a time together but separate depending on the definition.
The faroe islands are is this ream with denmmark.
England and Scotland also, as they both have independent teams in soccer.
Newfoundland and Labrador is official of two names as well.
Pakistan and bengladesh were once under one name despite being opposite sides of india.
why do we keep harping on about this?..it's not going to happen, look at a similar situation in Spain with the Catolonians wanting to break free from the Spanish..ain't happening either

Breaking away isn't a reasonable option or isn't needed, but going towards a autonomous region status or something of the sort wouldn't be a bad idea.
Canada is fortunate in that it seems the only serious problem they have is one part of it makes noises about going its own way from time to time. No serious financial problems, civil wars, threats against its citizens living in other nations, etc.

Well, a lot of people in Quebec aspire to autonomous status for the province - and I am not talking about sovereignty-association here. It would still be a part of Canada. Many federalists would like to see this.
