They are not as nice as you imagine. Personally I witnessed a young manager of a Tim Horton's...she built up the business then the corporate accountants had their way and fired her- so they could hire someone cheaper. She sued for wrongful dismissal and quickly go a settlement.
After that a family member became manager..What she told me was shocking. The reason the previous manager won the suit was because she had an excellent work record...a perfect employee who was praised by the owners...after that ALL work records were down graded and there was no mention of excellent service...in order that the next person who sued would not be successful- They are a corporation driven by greed and money...I have no respect for Tim Horton's.
I was listening to a WNY radio station not that long ago and the DJ called Timmies Timmy Ho's..Ive been trying to get it to stick here in Canada but it doesnt..
nope Tim Hortons put them all out of business years ago. the closest thing we have here is Williams and they are slow as hell (it took them 5 minutes for a coffee last time i went, i timed it)...and expensive to boot.
Here in USA, we don't have Tim Hortons restaurants but, there was a Tim Hortons movie that came out a few months ago...So, anyways. What kind of restaurant is Tim Horton, Is it like a fast-food restaurant, or a fancy dine-in? Just curious.

It's similar to a Dunkin Donuts.
And there are some in the US in border areas.
There's Tim Hortons even in non-border areas like near Scranton, PA and some terribly mismanaged ones in Manhattan too.
I wouldn't say it's exactly like a Dunkin Donuts but it is pretty similar. It's a little bit more of a hang out spot, people tend to stick around a lot longer than at a Dunkin Donuts. The quality of the product is a little higher in a Tim Hortons, too.
And speaking of local donut shops... in Welland, Ontario there is a place called Express Donuts. Never tried it though.
And there's a chain called Coffee Time in the Toronto area that has a bunch of locations, kind of looks like a cheaper or more run down version of Tim Hortons. Never tried them, either.
Many are open 24 hours. I love their breakfast sandwiches. Haven't had a donut in a while and I prefer their coffee over any i can buy elsewhere.
