No, we wern't. We never are .But, for the serious ****, we can build up some pretty heafty arms, pretty quick. I'm always amazed that in 1939, we had 7 warships. By war's end we had the thrid largest navy in the world. Especially impressive for a country with a population of around 11 million at the time.

Why we keep dismantling our military after every major war still baffles me.

True dat. I'm surprised we only had seven warships in 1939, considering we were such a major player in the first world war. Canada brought its A game for World War 2 though, a million Canadians served in uniform in that war from a population of only around 11 million!

Ya know what......I was wrong about the ships. We had 15! LOL! By the end, we had 95,000 on board and had built 470 naval ships and 3 or 400 merchant vessels.

At the start, our army had something in the neighbourhood for 4200 regulars and 51k in reserves. By 1942, it topped 400,000, and the end, it was 750,000...there abouts. <------That's just the army.

I could go on.....and on, but I don't want to de-rail the thread with awesomness.
