You'll find some big, old, well established sihk communities in the Non-Metro Vancouver cities of the Lower Mainland, like Abbottsford and Chilliwack. But yeah, for the most part Indian immigration is a pretty recent thing. When my grandparents came to Montreal in the 60's, there were essentially no Indian people outside the small community in BC. Even in my time, there was maybe a third the current number of indians when I was born, the population has just exploded and people tend to stick together, in the cities. I'm more and more seeing Indians in small town Southern Ontario though. I bet you'd find at least 3 or 4 families in any given small SO town these days.

Canada only has 5 english majority metros with more than 1 million people. You listed 4 of them....and the population of these CMAs make up nearly half of Canada's total population. So Canada's population is pretty concentrated in general

I would imagine most immigrants would find more opportunity in a large city than a small town. Cities also have Universities, good hospitals, major airports, and offer more varied cultural experience. Plus, once a community becomes established it seems to draw more like minded people, often at the expense of other locations.

You have mentioned that you would like to move to a city with a sizable Indian population. The first Indian communities were established in big cities....and other immigrants shared your preference.
