They are 2 absolutely different games with different skillsets required of players. Success in one league does not guarantee success in the other.

An NFL field is 100 yards long and 50 yards wide with 10 yard endzones while a CFL field is considerably larger with a 110 x 65 yard playing area and 20 yard endzones. That's an additional 33,750 sq ft of space for players to run around on.

NFL offences are restricted to having a single man in motion before the snap while CFL offences can have all eligible receivers moving toward the line of scrimmage before the snap of the ball.

NFL has 4 downs to make 10 yards; the CFL gives a team 3 downs.

NFL allows punt returners the option of calling a fair catch; the CFL only mandates a 5 yard restraining zone around the punt receiver until the ball is caught.

There have been plenty of players who have been successful in one league only to flounder in the other.

However, it's safe to say that it is much easier to get into the CFL. CFL players are mostly americans how cannot make it to the NFL and looking to keep on playing professionally.

Exactly.

Though I would be loathe to use the term "easy" in terms of getting into any professional sports league, I would definitely have to say that it's far tougher to get in, and stay in, the NFL.

Couple of other points. Twelve players instead of eleven, and there are import rules in place that limit the number of non-Canadian players on each team. We won't even bring up that they play during the summer months and the Grey Cup is played the week after US thanksgiving.
