Superman flew around Canada so fast (counter-clockwise) that he made it backwards... plus the Fortress of Solitude is in Nunavut.

Creator Joe Shuster was Canadian.

His famous cousin was Frank Shuster of comedy duo "Wayne and Shuster".

Joe Shuster's family moved to the States when he was a child, so the claims of Supe being part of our "heritage" might be a tad stretched. Man, we just want to be part of anything big, lol.

The other connection is The Daily Planet was based on the paper Joe worked for as a kid, none other than The Toronto Star.

Indeed. As I understand things, Clark Kent originally worked for the Metropolis Daily Star--see the Action Comics issue of 1938 that introduced Superman. Clark Kent's employer was changed to the Daily Planet when the Toronto Daily Star complained.
