Lived in St Pete, and with all the beach community's so close we never did see much point in going all the way over to Tampa for anything more than the occasional concert or major wresting event at the Ft Hesterly Armory., so Cubans and their culture were an unknown to me back then, i've since discovered Ybor City, wow who knew, the place rocks.

Ybor City is gentrified now, a tourist destination. West Tampa is the primary Hispanic community.

I was there (Ybor)this past March, lots of live Music venue, lots of great restaurants, lots of i presume tourists walking around. On the trolley line to downtown, lively place especially compared to the ghost town that is downtown Tampa.

There are not many Cubans in Canada (not many Latinos period) and I have never met a Cuban here that was supportive of the Cuban goverment, but they don't seem to hate Castro as much as those Cubans in Miami. I have heard several of them say that the only reason a bad relationship exists between Cuba and the U.S are the Cubans in Miami.
