You should check out the Street Rally called "Targa Newfoundland" held on the island early September.

The drive along the Saint John river in New Brunswick is wonderful! New Brunswick also has three great cities: Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton plus lots of other smaller cities, towns and villages around the province that are worth seeing in their own right: St. Andrews-By-the-Sea is a wonderful place to visit. Yes, if you take the highway all the way through you will just see trees and highway...so don't do that! Also, Take the trip from the Miramichi down through to Moncton along the ocean, just beautiful!

I have to agree with this. The coastal drive is pretty nice ... especially for a redneck type from Texas. I married an awesome lady from New Brunswick and we are up there frequently. I like that coastal drive ... quite French there. Plenty of dockside fish houses to buy lobster in places like Richibucto and Bouctouche.

Also need to get off the beaten path. NS and PEI are beautiful too .. more visual asthetic maybe than NB but hey, who's splitting hairs? Peggy's Cove is a must see just out of Halifax.

I love Maritime Canada ... really do !
