Canadian teams routinely sell out their arenas at high ticket prices — whether or not they are any good. This may reduce their incentive to compete.
American teams now outnumber us by over 4 to one, and consequently some of our best Canadian players are playing for American teams. It hasn't been that long since a Canadian team has won the Cup. Let's not kid ourselves, the Habs have won the Stanley Cup more times than any other NHL team.

If you are Canadian everything that sucks about hockey is always Bettemens fault.... Which is why we (Canadian Fans) boo him every time he shows his face at a Canadian Arena or Event
OP's link certainly hits nail on head concerning the matter. I think getting rid of Bettman and along with it his salary cap and a half dozen or so money losing teams would be a step in the right direction.
