We're considering a move to Protection Island near Nanaimo, BC. It's quite unique, as there are no paved roads, only a few cars, and just a passenger ferry. We've been there once, and found it very interesting and peaceful. We've lived on Gabriola and Saltspring, and miss island life.
We're ideal tenants - no smoking, drinking, or pets, and we take great care of houses. If you know of a long-term rental house on PI starting this fall, or if you could answer some general questions about living there, please reply. Thanks!
You may have some difficulties finding something to rent long term on Protection Island. Most of the rentals there are short term summer time vacation rentals which get booked well in advance and there are not many vacation rentals available. There are several properties and homes for sale there through real estate markets.
Thank you for replying. Things must be changing there, because we have been fortunate enough to find several long-term rentals. We're really looking forward to this move!
