Don't you mean you're a U.S. citizen and a landed immigrant in Canada?

At least that is what you have implied in other topics about Canada.

I agree that Americans have some real morons holding political office. That is part of the reason why I chose to become a Canadian. I sure didn't come up here for the better shopping opportunities, or the better weather (though I do like the cooler summers).

Wow... I agree that anyone who crosses the border either way wearing camos and looking like they want to pick a fight is just asking for it, especially if they are riding a bicycle.....and come on now, they really can't act surprised if they get a little "extra attention",,,can they?......

Welcome. I am not saying the U.S. is bad historically, I just get annoyed with vacuous flag-wavers like our Alaskan buddy there. I'm a great admirer of U.S. history (especially the Revolutionary War) and would love to have their constitution here (so long as it's actually adhered to). Unfortunately, most Americans seem to value television more than that document.

You're right about Canadians being irrationally fearful of guns though.
Just as many Americans are irrationally fearful of there gov or the police.

I would venture to say that such fear is not irrational but is indeed quite warranted.

I'm not a vacuous flag-waver but I'm someone who has firsthand knowledge of how border enforcement works and I know why Canadians are sometimes stopped while leaving the United States so I shared what I know to helps others to understand and maybe have a little more patience when it happens.

No, because of the disdain with which you speak of "your" country.

they start calling people "flag wavers" when they are losing a debate and are running out of arguments so they start crying.

phlinak, you are mistaking my disdain for the current corrupt regime in the United States with disdain for the country. Those are two very different sentiments.
