Whew! Thanks for mentioning Denver! Denver really is awesome.

I guess, it boils down to money, if you are concerned about health care, security, are not very motivated, working class kind, then canada is better, as even though there is higher taxation, you are taken care of in case of failing health, or job loss. US is good for the hardworking, business minded individual, as it is more business friendly and less working class friendly. You can run a business more easily, pay much less or no tax and also have access to a bigger market.
Also the US is more pro war and relegious, whereas Canada is more liberal, supports gay rights, multiculturism, pro environment, against greenhouse emissions etc. Just my Opinion.

The only places ive been to in Canada is regina and saskatoon SK, Very nice cities my impressions of Canadians are they are friendly and the ones i met always brought up our president and their opinions of him and our government policies in (IRAQ). If you like Bush they will scold you (cannot blame them) if you dislike Bush they seem to relax and be more talkitive. I want too say thank you too the Canadian military for their contributions and sacrifes in afganistan.Good job

having grown up in Canada and been part of the education system with all it's experiments on us, I can say Canada's education is no better than the education my daughter is receiving in a good school district in the states. And there is way more opportunity here than in Canada. IMHO Canada, particularly tne north/west is still very blue collar. I've had people look me in the eye and ask why I want to send my daughter to college in the states when she could make 60,000 or more up in Ft. McMurray on the oil fields (as if I'd expose her to that crowd--grew up in Northern Canada and it is a PIT)

Canada is better for living (quality of life) by miles and miles. Their government actually cares about the entire populous and not just the "have's." if it wasn't for the weather, i'd be living in canada right now (Vancouver).

the united states had over 300 million people in it. much of the way people here think is shaped by the region they live in. If you live in the northern VA area, you might be more liberal, less happy with war, and more business friendly as well as more tolerant of other people's choices/religions.
if you live in the South, well that's another matter altogether.
The usa is NOT just one type-
That would be like saying all of Canada is blue collar, liberal, socialistic, has no national identity, is very provincial...
And those taxes? And the health care system??? Lousy in my honest opinion having experienced it first hand.

I have lived in both countries--in my opinion there are way more opportunities in the US than in Canada--unless of course you want to be waitressing in Ft. McMurray and getting the big tips from the guys who didn't go to college bc they can make a six figure income on the oil fields.
Yeah, that'd be my dream job and my dream place to live--NOT.

I find it amusing about the dumb American stereotype. Yet year after year when the lists of best global universities come out.. US universities are always on top and are well represented..
