Im a student from Brazil and Im thinking about going to Toronto to study english.. I know it must be much safer comparing to my country but I worry a little about going into a bad area, guetto, etc.. So, what areas should I avoid in Toronto? Is it safe in downtown?

What about walking on the street at night? Is it safe to do it? Ive heard that most people in Toronto live in the suburbs, far from downtown. So, if I want to go out at night, to a pub, bar, club, Id probably have to go to downtown by bus or subway, and go back the same way. Is it safe to go back home by bus/subway/on foot at 2, 3, 4 oclock in the morning?

Thanks in advance!

I think the two pages-worth of responses you got for the same question in the Toronto forum (Safety in Toronto) would have been sufficient. What are you hoping to hear in this forum that you didn't hear in the Toronto forum?

Sweet Jesus, you sound like an angry monkey flinging your poo everywhere.... I sure am sad that I get to stay in this hole (Brazil) for the rest of my life while illiterate (whatever language that is, sure as hell ain't english) chumps like you get to experience life abroad in nicer, more civilized countries (that you probably aren't self-aware enough to appreciate) giving the few actually functional, reasonable brazilians a bad name.
