Monty870 is on a distinguished road
I've lived in southwestern Ontario for almost my entire life and I agree with what ajau is saying. This part of Canada is very similar to Michigan and people here certainly don't think of Michigan as being some kind of trailer-trash backwater. It's an industrial powerhouse that is currently experiencing a down time.

I wouldn't go so far as saying southwestern Ontario should join Michigan but I think you'll find a lot of people down here who would have no problem with breaking away and forming our own province.

I agree with Monty. Essex County and Windsor should seriously look into forming their own province. As far as that area of the province goes, it is culturally, economically, socially, and even historically distinct from the rest of the province. Essex County and Windsor have not been served better by Toronto than what they could do for themselves. Provincial laws and tax rates are set with Greater Toronto in mind, and actually hurt Windsor in many ways. See new border crossing project or even liquor/gaming laws as an example.

There is a saying that goes, Ontario only extends to Chatham, and I agree with that.

We enjoyed having the Minnesota boys up here for the Ford World Men's Curling Championship They really "gave 'er" but didn't make the finals. Seemed like a great bunch of guys.
