Southern Ontario has decent skiing. Nothing compared to Quebec, but there are still plenty of ski hills scattered around. Nothing that I can think of that is close to Toronto, however.

I used to snowboard and there really is no where worth trekking to in the TO area. Blue Mountain is OK, but that's Southern Ontario standards. If you're willing to drive two hours, Elicottville in New York is probably the closest area for decent downhill runs. If you're willing to drive a little further, the Adirondacks, especially Whiteface Mountain, offer some excellent possibilities, but that's not exactly day-trip material.
