Only a sociopath would kill their own daughter. Banning articles of clothing is not going to save anyone's life.

Practising these honour killings is going against the teachings of islam. Muslims follow the 10 Commandments, just like us Christians.

Actually it isn't. Muslims follow the Quran and Sharia law.

if that false barbaric camel herding prophet was forced to wear a burka/hijab in the in the year 1400 no woman would be wearing one today... it covers the beauty of a women, when it should be used to cover a bass-turd male chauvinistic pigs that preach lies from an old evil holey book conjured up by the above false prophet...

As far as I know, threatening to kill someone for not obeying you is already banned. What you seem to want is a ban on a religious garment that is not hurting anyone.

In my experience if you tolerate the intolerant, then that gives them space to be even less tolerant. By banning it, then I believe they will switch to Hijab and they will feel perfectly fine with it. Its all about what you are used to. We are right now used to wearing clothes and would feel exposed if we didn't have them, but if we never used clothes then it would not have been a problem.

Burqa is not part of Islam, its cultural tradition that supresses women. Some people say they will just force their wifes to be inside all day, but who is going to take care of the kids and buy groceries when he is at work. So forcing your wife to always be inside won't be possible. They will eventually get used to letting her out with a hijab.
Well said!

Muslim Family Found Guilty in Canadian Honor Killings | Video | TheBlaze.com
Yes, it was all over Canadian media at the time.

Which begs the question: why did you not cite a Canadian source for your link? The CBC, CTV, Global, Globe and Mail, National Post--all of these carried the story daily during the trial; why did you not choose any of these sources? All of these sources, and many others from Canadian media, had reporters in the courtroom every day; and every day, we were treated to new revelations from the Shafia trial.

The Blaze is an American site; the AP is an American wire. Did it have a reporter on-scene daily? Interesting that it did not offer the comments of the Afghan ambassador to Canada, as Canadian sources did. (FTR, and IIRC, he said this incident was not typical of Afghans, and that neither Afghanistan nor Islam supported the kind of behaviour that the Shafias were convicted of.)

I'd suggest that if you want to comment knowledgeably on Canadian news, that you consult Canadian news sources.

To add/
This topic isnt really about clothing its about keeping a certain demographic from entering the country or feeling un welcome once they are here,
Another question would be why an American (J4J)who has no skin in the Canadian game starts such a vacuous topic in the Canadian section?
Rather than spread this Xenophobic racist rubbish in the Canadian section why not post the topic where this kind of stuff thrives =the politics and controversy section ,. lets see.=

Yeah this topic will fit right in.
