I have the best debit card for ATM for international travel that is captialone360. There is no charge at all for any foreign transactions. No foreign transaction fee and no foreign currency fee. But if i use the ATM at the airport, does that still apply? I never used my capitalone360 card at an airport atm before. But airport atm should be no different than a regular atm bank in montreal correct?

I read there was something about a big spread in the airport but that is assuming exchanging American money for Canadian money?

Find an actual bank ATM, not the no-name ones like you find in a bar. That will give you proper rates/fees/exchange.

I don't know what network Capital One is on, but look on the back of the card. It's likely Plus or Cirrus. The major banks in Canada would be Royal, BMO/Montreal, CIBC, Scotiabank, TD, and then you get into HSBC, etc.

I would look on Capital One's website and see if they have fee arrangements with any of the Canadian banks for no-fee transactions.
