Um, I'd assume if you spoke french you order it in French….if you didn't then English might work….or being a Subway…they probably have a translated menu or at least photos of menu items on their board.
Not really sure I get your question. I mean…you HAVE left the US haven't you?
One thing is that ''foot long'' doesn't really translate easily in French, so a ''foot long'' is ''douze pouces'' or ''12 inches''.
When I am in Ottawa I say ''12 inches'' in inches and sometimes they look at me funny but they get what I mean since they hear it often enough. They also sometimes hesitate when I ask for ''salad'' (from the French ''salade'' for lettuce) instead of ''lettuce''.

It's funny, that's how I also order stuff at sandwich places, I'll ask for a 6 inch or a 12 inch and salad. I just never noticed I was being strange before.

Just like closing the lights and passing the vacuum!
That Subway must do well with the Bombardier factory across the street (rotate the streetview). Sad that I do a double take when I see a busy factory in Canada. So many of the factories I knew in the '70s and '80s have been converted to warehousing or knocked down for housing.
Well first you should ask them where the nearest Mr Sub is.
