Isn't the PQ always planning a referendum? I'm pretty sure that's the whole purpose of their existence!
Its the whole reason for their existence, Obviously the voting majority of Quebec arent buying their product these days as they recently got voted out of power to be replaced by the Liberals.

I am part of that majority and I do not buy the PQ's ideas. They aren't what Quebec needs at the moment, and their path throws away the benefits offered by Canada.

What benefits - what benefits in Canada does Quebec get that other Provinces don't? Be specific!!

- Increased power for Quebec on the world stage
- Economic opportunities for francophones in the federal government
- power to control 50% of our immigration policy
- Bill 101
- The extension of francophone influence over anglophone areas (basically everywhere outside of Quebec), First Nations, Mennonites, and Gaelic speakers don't get this
Just to name a few! But there is still much more that Canada will do in the increased devolution of Canada in order for Quebec to have even more control over our national affairs.

I'm not sure if these things are feasible - essentially it would mean Quebec would be a separate country and not even a part of Canada.. In that case than wouldn't it be better for Quebecers to just decide that they want to go it alone completely and send that message to the R.O.C? To what end right...?
Put this way - is there any other country in the world where a Province, State or Autonomous region would have such powers without actually being a separate country? Since you said to name a few, why end there and just say hey - Quebec should also have its own currency, treaties, defense forces etc - so really and essentially a completely separate nation with no ties to Canada..

You could have all that and much more simply by Quebec becoming its own country.. Wanting all the trappings of a sovereign nation but keeping Canada as a safety net will fall short in your attempts to become masters of your own francophone destiny.
Your aspirations to in some way devolve Canada is illogical as in a separate Quebec Canada would be its major trading partner. And if you are a federalist as you claim why would you want to marginalize your own country?
Things have gotten all mixed up here over the last couple of posts between things that Quebec already has (and that other provinces do or could have) and things that Quebec might want to have.

.
Not really a Quebec-specific benefit as most federal jobs are English only or bilingual and most Quebecers are unilingual French. Only 4 percent of federal jobs are French only whereas 60% of Quebecers speak only French and 17 percent of all Canadians speak only French.
If anything the people most favoured for these jobs are Franco-Ontarians and Acadians and to some degree Anglo-Quebecers.
