My Sis-In-Law wants to move to Windsor, ON. We are in Michigan, not too far. The idea is we can meet her every weekend, either she can drive else we will.
I wanted know more about this city, like crime rate, job opportunities, etc.
I would do a search of this forum as this topic has come up before. Violent crime is very low in Windsor and the city has one of the lowest murder rates in Canada. Property crime is comparable with the national average. Job opportunities are limited and the city is still struggling with a high unemployment rate. Part of this is its dependence on the auto industry but it's also isolated from the rest of the country and this can make it harder to attract new jobs since business tends to flock to the greater Toronto area.
My sister in law and her husband moved to Windsor while their 2 girls were teens. Because of their jobs, those girls could live anywhere in Canada they would want to, now that they are in their mid 30s. Both of them have elected to stay in Windsor and raise their families there. They have both told me they would live no where else. O think that says something about the city for sure.
