Canada has dropped its first bombs on ISIL positions in Syria.. It becomes only the second western country after the U.S to do this.. Only the U.S and other M.E countries have bombed ISIL positions in Syria while countries like the UK and Australia have been bombing ISIL in Iraq only. So right now Canada is engaging in bombing campaigns in two countries at the same time Syria and Iraq... It was only 4 short years ago that we engaged in bombing campaigns in Libya..

Dear Canadians. Please don't get yourselves mired down in this never ending conflict like we have. We have been at war with terrorists in the Middle East for the last 14 years with no end in sight and thousands of casualties.

Never been overly impressed by Dyer. I remember going to see him speak one time many years ago. He was late, it was pouring rain outside, and he went on stage without taking his coat of and dripping wet. He just started rambling about Fukuyama's "The End of History" and supporting it with "facts" that little-old-undergrad-history-student-me thought was nonsense. I don't follow Dyer at all, but it it seems to me he just goes along with whatever the current trend is and tries to make it sound original. I wonder if he's ever come out and flat-out admitted later when he was completely wrong about something.
